Partners

Partnerships create value and spread risk
The current trend in offshore wind is for an increasing number of projects to be implemented together with partners.
DONG Energy has extensive experience of working with different partners, both industrial and financial, and we are considered an attractive partner to work with. This is due to our long-running experience of developing, constructing and operating wind projects.
Entering partnerships
In December 2009, a consortium consisting of Dutch venture capital firm Ampère Equity Fund and Dutch organisation PGGM became co-owners of Walney offshore wind farm (UK). Their share is 24.8%. They also manage a number of collective pension schemes. The Walney transaction means DONG Energy retains an equity interest of 50.1%, while the remaining 25.1% is still owned by Scottish & Southern Energy.
Recently, a consortium of PensionDanmark and PKA entered an agreement with DONG Energy on the acquisition of 50% of Anholt Offshore Wind Farm, located in Kattegat in Denmark. The wind farm is expected to be operational in 2013.
DONG Energy hopes the pension schemes’ investments in renewable energy production will pave the way for similar investments of pension funds in future wind projects.
