Since DONG Energy E&P entered the West of Shetland region in 2001, we have managed to build a valuable portfolio of discoveries, prospects and leads.

We are partners in eight discoveries: Laggan-Tormore, Rosebank, Edradour, Glenlivet (which we operate), Cambo, Tornado and Tobermory. This high success rate is attributed to our excellent explorers having a broad knowledge of the risk and reward opportunities in this challenging region.

The exploration portfolio is balanced and includes lower risk, near field prospect clusters around Laggan/Tormore and Rosebank/Cambo, and higher risk, higher reward prospects in our core operated region, the North East region. This building and maintenance of a balanced exploration portfolio is a result of a firm and long-term exploration strategy that was established in 2003 and will continue unchanged for the coming years.

Our long-term E&P strategy is to build a West of Shetland core production area, which will also include the eastermost part of the Faroe offshore sector. The West of Shetland is expected to become a major part of DONG Energy E&Ps overall portfolio.
