DONG Energy will be increasing its production of oil and gas via production from the Norwegian Oselvar field. Oselvar is DONG Energy’s second development as operator in Norway. The field was put into production Saturday 14 April.

DONG Energy reaches a milestone today when the LNG terminal in Rotterdam is officially inaugurated

DONG Energy has decided to temporarily shut down production from the Siri platform in the Danish North Sea and to transfer all employees to shore.

The size of DONG Energy’s portfolio of wind projects in Norway is found no longer to warrant a continued strategic focus on expansion of the Norwegian market. 

DONG Energy’s Norwegian oil and gas field Trym is now in production. This is the first Norwegian field to be produced via Danish infrastructure. The Trym development is the result of close cooperation between the license partners, DONG Energy and Bayerngas, the Danish and Norwegian authorities as well as Mærsk Oil & Gas as operator of the Danish Harald platform.

DONG Energy has today inaugurated the £600 million, gas-fired Severn Power Station at Uskmouth in South Wales. The power plant has the capacity to produce up to 824MW of electricity, which is enough to power around 1.5 million homes and represents more than one per cent of the UK‟s peak electricity demand.

DONG Energy and the Danish transmission system operator Energinet.dk have received funding of about EUR 8 million for a large project. The aim is to prepare further use of renewable energy in the power system.

Strong interest in the DONG Energy Gas Release Auction

During a routine inspection on Monday 31 August, cracks were observed in a construction attached to the subsea oil tank at DONG Energy's production platform Siri, which is situated in the Danish part of the North Sea. 

DONG Energy hopes to find evidence of oil in the Thy underground. Therefore the underground is to be examined and this may cause some nuisance to the inhabitants for a limited period; such as restricted access to certain roads and noise.

DONG Energy’s offshore wind farm Horns Rev 2 in the North Sea today supplied the first CO2-free power to the Danish national grid. The farm’s total of 91 wind turbines will be installed during the course of 2009, but the first wind turbines have already been put into operation. Once completed later this year, Horns Rev 2 will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm.

On 21 May 1984, the first oil ran down the new pipeline from Gorm field in the Danish North Sea sector to the crude oil terminal in Fredericia. Ever since then, oil has been flowing from the North Sea to the terminal, where a significant part of the oil is shipped out via the Shell port facilities in Fredericia.

DONG Energy is pleased to announce that the first turbine was installed Wednesday morning at the company’s Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm project in the Thames Estuary off the East coast of England. 

This Thursday, DONG Energy, Siemens and A2SEA installed the first turbine at the offshore wind farm Horns Rev 2 in the North Sea. When inaugurated later this year, it will be the world's biggest offshore wind farm.

DONG Energy abandons demonstration windmill projects at Kyndby Power Station and Masnedø CHP Plant 

DONG Energy is joining the group of investors backing LiTHIUM BALANCE A/S, a developer, producer and marketer of battery systems for among other things electric and hybrid cars. 

Vice president, Investor Relations, Steen Juul Jensen has chosen to leave his position at DONG Energy by the end of January 2009 in order to seek new challenges.

DONG Energy, the main sponsor of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art since 2001, is to extend its support to 2009. The Louisiana was unable to find a new main sponsor due to the financial crisis, but can now plan forward until at least 2010. 

The Norwegian Oil & Energy Ministry has awarded DONG Energy a licence to search for oil and gas in an approximately 600 km2 block in the Barents Sea, off the coast at Hammerfest in Northern Norway. This means that DONG Energy now has six Norwegian licences. 

DONG Energy’s technology company, Inbicon, will from the beginning of 2009 produce second generation bioethanol on a test basis for Japanese industry giant, Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES). It is the first time Inbicon sells its technology, indicating that other companies see promising perspectives in the technology. 

RWE npower, Peel Energy and Denmark’s DONG Energy today announced they had formed a joint venture partnership to develop a carbon capture and storage (CCS) demonstration project in the UK.

Today the CEO of DONG Energy, Anders Eldrup, opened the Burbo Bank wind farm, located offshore Liverpool, England. The UK Minister of State for Energy, Malcolm Wicks, the Danish Minister for Transport and Energy, Jakob Axel Nielsen, local government representatives, partners and employees from DONG Energy took part in the opening ceremony. 

DONG Energy A/S has been appointed operator of a new license west of Greenland. Together with the partners in the consortium DONG Energy will undertake the acquisition and interpretation of new data over the next several years in order to verify if oil or gas in commercially significant volumes can be found in the license block 

As of 14 September 2007 DONG Energy has together with the partners Statoil, Genencor (Danisco’s enzyme division) and AgBioEnergy applied for public co-financing from the Danish Energy Technological Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP) for construction of a demonstration plant for second-generation bioethanol production.
