DONG Energy in the UK exists to deliver secure energy supplies from production to supplying customers whilst maintaining a profitable business. It is our aim to transition to lower carbon supplies in the future.

The UK is trying to do exactly the same thing – move to an energy mix that is lower carbon and uses the UK's own resources of wind power and natural gas. DONG Energy is already contributing to that transition.

DONG Energy is growing at an exceptional pace in the UK, from less than ten employees in 2004 to nearly 400 today. We work across the energy value chain with a focus on the dual solution of gas, which is the lowest carbon emitting fossil fuel and offshore wind. Our total committed investment in the UK is over £4.2 billion to date.

We are one of the most active explorers and developers of oil and gas in the West of Shetland and helped seed the growth of gas production in the region. This is not just about prospects – many fields in the area are now being developed. There’s also new infrastructure  which we have invested in and own, that will deliver more indigenous supplies of gas and oil from the West of Shetlands to the UK for years to come. DONG Energy was instrumental in the West of Shetlands evolution for producing gas and we continue to be a partner in many of the fields.



As well as exploring and producing gas we own one of the most efficient gas power stations in the world and are a leader in B2B gas supplies in the UK. Our customer service has consistently been voted the best for several years and we will keep offering our customers more with potential for renewable electricity dual fuel and offering to partner with customers to help them save money and cut their CO2 emissions.

We are also a leader in offshore wind with a diverse and long term UK portfolio of projects spanning different regions and licensing rounds. Our portfolio now includes projects that are operational, under construction and a pipeline of wind farms under development. Not only are we the largest partner in the world's current largest offshore wind farm, we are also the largest partner in what will be the next, the London Array. 

DONG Energy will continue to grow here – looking for more licences to explore, new wind farms to build, creating new customer products and working in partnership with the UK to deliver their lower carbon, secure energy vision.
